The Role

As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be the technical expert supporting Diesta's sales organisation throughout the customer buying journey.

Working closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, Sales, Product and Delivery teams, you will lead technical discovery sessions, deliver tailored product demonstrations, scope and execute Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and advise customers on how Diesta integrates into their existing technology landscape.

A key part of your role will be ensuring our demonstration environments and sample datasets remain market-leading, enabling prospects to experience the full breadth of the Diesta platform.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities and a passion for helping customers solve complex business challenges. As Diesta continues to scale internationally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and lead a growing Pre-Sales Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, tailored product demonstrations that clearly articulate the value and capabilities of the Diesta platform.

  • Design, scope and deliver Proofs of Concept (PoCs), including analysing customer data, configuring the platform and presenting results to customer stakeholders.

  • Build, maintain and continuously enhance Diesta's demonstration environments and sample datasets, ensuring they showcase the platform's latest functionality and best-practice business scenarios.

  • Support the preparation of technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires and due diligence requests.

  • Work closely with the Sales, Product and Delivery teams to develop customer-specific solution designs and ensure a seamless transition from sales through to implementation.

  • Lead technical discovery workshops with prospective customers to understand their business processes, technical landscape and implementation requirements.

  • Advise prospective customers on technical architecture and integration approaches, including APIs, Bank integrations, GL, Policy Administration Systems (PAS) and other third-party platforms.

  • Use SQL and/or Python to configure the Diesta platform.

  • Configure the Diesta platform to demonstrate customer-specific workflows, automation capabilities and reporting.

  • Act as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle, providing trusted advice to both customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to help shape the future direction of the Diesta platform and product roadmap.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Diesta's pre-sales methodologies, technical collateral, demonstration assets and best practices.

Skills & Experience

Essential
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Consultant or similar customer-facing technical role.

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or Python.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Confidence presenting to senior management and C-suite stakeholders.

  • The ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

  • A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused approach.

Desirable
  • Experience working within an enterprise SaaS environment.

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, including insurers, brokers or MGAs.

  • Understanding of finance, accounting or payment operations.

  • Experience with APIs, system integrations and structured data formats such as JSON, XML and CSV.

  • Experience working with enterprise applications including ERP, banking platforms or Policy Administration Systems.

  • Experience configuring software solutions for demonstrations or customer Proofs of Concept.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means becoming a trusted technical advisor to both our customers and internal teams.

Within your first 12 months, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional product demonstrations that maximise the capabilities of the Diesta platform.

  • Build and maintain industry-leading demonstration environments and realistic customer datasets.
